Melanie's Beautiful Story

Hello, my name is Melanie. I would like to take a moment of your time to share a little bit of my story. A year ago, a few days after my 3rd birthday I was diagnosed with leukemia cancer. This really made my mommy, daddy and older brother really sad. For me, I really didn’t understand what was going on and why everyone around me was so worried.

I do remember getting gifts; one in particular was a Scentsy buddy that my uncle gave me. It smelled so good and was so soft to sleep with. I never wanted to go anywhere without him. His name was Henry.

One day, not too long after I started my treatments, my mommy noticed that I wasn’t feeling well and after going back to the doctors, they told my mommy and daddy that it was a rare fungal infection that needed immediate care. This infection caused me to stay in the hospital a little after 5 months and I ended up needing over 30 surgeries.

It was all very scary, but with the prayers of my family and friends, and with the help of Henry, I knew I COULD DO IT!!!!

So far I am now feeling better, stronger, and I have started Pre-K. I am currently in maintenance. So my message to you all is to fight! Don’t ever give up, when fighting do it with a smile and a royal wave!!!
